- Media - Editcam records clips on FieldPak 2, reusable, inexpensive media pack available both HDD and flash memory version.
- Media adaptors - SAT-110 is a single slot FieldPak adaptor with USB(and/or FireWire) I/F. It costs one sixth of the other recording media.
- Maintenance fee - Because of no moving parts such as drums and pick up heads, in recording device, no maintenance fee for recording device.
It is a key to success in tapeless environment to manage media efficiently. By utilizing Editcam’s metadata feature, user can organize storage-full of media, especially with Avid editing systems.
Actually, Editcam is the only Avid-native camcorder with its metadata since 1994. But current models of Editcam support MXF(Material eXchange Format) as well as OMF. Editcam can work with major non-linear environment with MXF format such as Apple Final Cut Pro.
Editcam3 supports a range of codec, DV 25/50, IMX 30/40/50, JFIF 3:1/10:1/20:1 with both MXF and OMF file format.
And offers hard-drive media and flash-memory media.
Customer can choose codec, file format and media suitable for their tapeless environment.
